Kanak Chauri is a small village located about 40 km from Rudraprayag, along the Rudraprayag–Pokhri road. It serves as the base for the scenic trek to the famous Kartik Swami Temple. The village is peaceful and offers stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges.

How to Reach
Well connected by roads is the temple of Kartik Swami. Also available are interstate buses from ISBT Anand Vihar (Delhi) to Srinagar, Rudraprayag and Rishikesh. You can also hire a taxi or cab to Kanak Chauri. You’ll have to undergo a 3km trek in order to reach Temple Kartik Swami once you reach Kanak Chauri.
Jolly Grant Airport is the closest airport from the place of Dehradun that is around 192km away from the place. To reach Rudraprayag one can board a cab or taxi from the airport.
One has to take a train to either Rishikesh or Haridwar railway station that are closest railway stations towards Rudraprayag which is located at a distance of around 138km and 160km respectively in order to reach the temple through railway network.
